Authentic Girl Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit on a mission to empower low-income/at-risk girls through life coaching via our Sponsorship Program.
How can coaching help meet the needs of adolescent girls at risk?
- Coaching can fill the support gap between school and problem-focused interventions found in the mental health field or the justice system.
- Studies show three factors are important for effective, positive interventions for this audience: (1) a one-on-one relationship with a caring, supportive adult (2) competency building (3) time intensity. Coaching offers all three.
We coach our girls with unconditional positive regard – a caring, accepting, non-judgmental attitude, which allows the client to drop defenses and develop the self awareness and self acceptance needed to self actualize.
We apply research-based coaching as an empowerment tool. Our coaching interventions emphasize:
- self-awareness
- self-determination
- proactive skill building
- meaning, purpose, and goal orientation
- flexibility, tolerance, and collaborative problem-solving
Sponsorship Program
Your generous sponsorship will cover a 12-Week Coaching Program specifically designed for an adolescent girl who has been carefully selected by our nonprofit partners. You will receive information on the client, including monthly progress reports. The cost of sponsorship is $1800 and is a tax-deductible donation (Tax ID: 45-5021110).
